Shalom Retreat is a registered NDIS provider of Supported Independent Living (SIL) services for people living with disability. Our mission is to advocate for our clients’ right to choose the degree and nature of the support they receive, thereby assisting them to live a purposeful, fulfilling life and to reach their full potential.

Situated within the tranquil, leafy surrounds of Tingira Heights, in beautiful Lake Macquarie, our stunning luxury accommodation and extensive grounds offer individuals a peaceful environment in which they can live the life they choose.
Shalom Retreat is an all-Australian, family owned and operated facility, dedicated to serving the needs of people living with disability. We have the capacity to accommodate a maximum of twenty-nine residents at any one time, with a variety of supported independent living options available.
From our luxurious mansion-like central facilities and accommodation to our fully accessible independent dwellings featuring spacious, well-appointed private suites with room for a carer, Shalom Retreat has been purpose-built to cater to the needs of people living with disability. To facilitate greater independence each suite is fitted with accessibility aids and a variety of support furnishings are available to suit participants with different levels of disability.
We value and respect the individual and their right to determine how much (or how little) support they desire to complete activities of daily living, socialise, participate in the community, and engage in group activities. Our living support services give the individual complete control over their day-to-day lives, with a range of care and support options tailored to the individual’s needs, wants and personal goals.
Put simply, the services and assistance we provide place the individual in the driver’s seat.
As part of our commitment to enabling our participants and guests to pursue their goals and aspirations, increase their independence and develop their capacity to actively participate in the community and the workforce, our dedicated staff works in close consultation with each client to establish their needs and wants and align the supports we provide to the goals and funded supports identified in their NDIS plan.
Our community engagement and socialisation programs support and encourage residents and guests to cultivate or maintain an active, independent lifestyle while enabling them to enjoy the benefits of companionship and holistic care and support. Our experienced disability support staff actively assist participants to take advantage of local community services, facilitating regular community outings to local events and attractions.

Our accommodation options and support services offer individuals a variety of living arrangements, with levels of care and support tailored to the individual’s needs, wants and personal goals.
Our stunning independent living facility boasts a beautiful mansion-like central building surrounded by a cluster of six, fully accessible independent dwellings. Each dwelling contains several spacious, and private suites, with purpose-built amenities, a well-appointed kitchen and airy living, dining, and outdoor areas. Participants have the freedom to cook, relax and entertain in relative privacy. Each dwelling also has room for a carer, to ensure individuals are provided with the level of support they want or need.
